we are the denizen of our liquid, modern society.
we are despairing at being abandoned to our own wits, feeling easily disposable;
we are yearning for the security of togetherness,
and for a helping hand to count on in a moment of trouble,
and so, we are desperate to relate.
Yet we are wary of the state of being related,
and particularly of being related for good,
since we fear that such a state may bring burdens we feel neither able nor willing to bear.
There is no easy answer to how to tie the relationship,
or how to take it apart without harm and with a clear conscience.
